20091009 phantom 190x190 Webber Fans Wonder Whether Phantom of the Opera 2 Is Really the Great Idea It First Seemed

Love Never Dies, the supplement to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, opens currently in London, and unsurprisingly, hard-core fans — or “phans” — of the strange have been up in arms. The supplement has been in previews for dual weeks now, and the reply has been temperate at most appropriate and cruelly vicious at worst, with one drama blog dubbing the fool around “Paint Never Dries.” Fans on the WhatsOnStage site have often savaged Love in an epic message-board thread, job in to subject characterization and tract developments, and mostly similar which the prolongation is as well delayed and tedious. Understandably, Lloyd Webber is a bit defensive and insists which all of his classical shows were severe in their early performances.
